Mission Statement
The purpose of Christian Academy is to provide a high standard of education for each student, based upon a firm foundation in the Word of God.
A basic responsibility of Christian parents is to obey the Biblical instruction, which gives them the ultimate responsibility for the education of their children (Deuteronomy 6: 7, 8; Proverbs 22:6). CAWNY is an extension of the Christian home, embracing the task of assisting parents in the training of their children in the knowledge of God and the Christian way of life.
CAWNY is dedicated to preparing its students to impact their generation for Christ, by providing a standard of excellence for educating the whole student in a Christian environment. It is our goal to inspire and facilitate the development of each child: academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. CAWNY provides a professional Christian faculty and administration, as well as programs, policies and curricula that result in high quality, Christ-centered education and development for its students.
Statements of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:4-6).
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory (1 Cor. 15:3, 1 Peter 2:21-24, John 3:16, 1 Thess. 4:18, Rev. 21:20).
We believe in the reality of Satan and that his present control over unregenerate man does exist (2 Cor. 4:4).
We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19 & 5:24, Romans 3:23 & 5:8-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5).
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life with evidence of spiritual power in public testimony and service (Romans 8:13-14,1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Acts 1:8).
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:24, 28-29).
We believe healing is provided for in the atonement and that it is a privilege for all believers (Isaiah 53:4, Matt. 8:16, John 5:14, 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe in the sanctity of life both born and unborn (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-15).
We believe that the term marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen 1:27-29 & 2:22-24).
We believe that God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
Philosophy of Christian Education
The educational philosophy of Christian Academy of Western New York (CAWNY) is based upon a God-centered view. God's Word is the only source of truth, and the Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. God has created all things and has revealed Himself through the written word (Hebrews 1:1-2), the living Word (John 1:1,2,14), and His creation (Psalms 19: 1-2). We recognize that man is created in God's image (Genesis 1:27) for the purpose of glorifying Him. Because man is a sinner by nature (Romans 3:23), he cannot glorify or know God, unless he chooses to accept God's free gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
As a school, we recognize that the primary responsibility for nurturing and training children comes from God's ordained institution - the family. CAWNY, through its educational programs, will seek to reinforce and strengthen the Christian families it serves.
We believe that each child is a unique individual with value, gifts and talents given to him by God. We realize that CAWNY has the responsibility to mold, train and nurture young lives, in order for students to grow to be all that God has created them to be, to His glory. While recognizing that children have individual learning styles and abilities, the methods of instruction used by CAWNY will be those used by the Master Teacher, Jesus Christ, and throughout the Word of God.
Our responsibility to students mandates that we assist their development academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. We recognize that these areas are an inseparable part of the whole child. Every aspect of CAWNY’s program will include an integration of God's Word. The best integrated curriculum will be used to promote high academic standards, and lead students to grasp the foundations of learning. The objective of our instructional program is to enable the student to reach their highest level of preparedness for entering the mainstream of society, or to continue the post- secondary education of their choosing.
It is CAWNY’s goal that the social atmosphere of the school and activities be permeated by the Christian life view. From this perspective, each child will develop a balanced personality, with a proper understanding and acceptance of a person's role in life at home, at work, at play, and at church. It will enable students to make honest, confident decisions and choices, based upon God's Word and His direction.
