August, 2023 Important Dates
Hello, CAWNY Families -
The Summer is flying by and before you know it, it'll be time for the first day of school! Here are some important dates in the month of August. Please mark your calendars.
Today
CAWNY's online Uniform Store is open (through Aug 17). PLEASE REVIEW DRESS CODES here (ELEM MS HS) before purchasing uniforms. Some of the dress codes have changed. Uniform Store can be found here. (You might want to wait until after August 9th, after you have had a chance to go through our gently used uniforms - which are free.)
Wednesdays in August
The school will be open for any needs you might have on every Wednesday in August (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Should you need assistance on a different day, just give the Main Office a call (716-433-1652) and make sure someone will be there before you come.
August 4th
The National Honor Society will be hold a Car Wash to raise money for the NHS membership fee. The Car Wash will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, August 4th. Please come out and support them, if you can. (Bethesda Tabernacle, 6 Delaware St, Tonawanda)
August 9th
Gently used uniforms now available each Wednesday (or if you call ahead).
August 10th
We need to begin preparing our school/classrooms for the new year! If you would like to come help (and earn Family Commitment credit), please come anytime from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th. In order to get the $100 off of your Family Commitment, you must volunteer for at least 2 hours.
August 11th
It is Student Council's turn! They will be holding a Car Wash from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 11th. Come out and help them fundraise while getting your car washed! (Bethesda Tabernacle, 6 Delaware St, Tonawanda)
mid-August
September to June (10-Month) contracts will be sent out. Watch your mail!
August 24th
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT! CAWNY will provide snacks and drinks as families are welcomed to the 2023-24 school year on Thursday, August 24th at 6 p.m. Students will have opportunities to speak with their teachers and visit their classrooms in anticipation of our new school year. (It STRONGLY requested that all families attend the Back-to-School Night.)
