Staff Directory
First Grade Teacher: Wendy received her BS from Houghton College and her MS from Pensacola Christian College. She had been a first grade teacher at Covenant Academy since 1991 until they closed in 2008. She joined our staff in 2009 She lives on Grand Island with her husband and attends Whitehaven Road Baptist Church.
Kindergarten Teacher: Elaine earned her B.S and MS edu. from Buffalo State College. She joined the Academy staff in 2009. She resides in Wilson with her Husband. They attend the First Baptist Church.
Spanish Teacher: Rachel earned her AA from NCCC and her BS from Malone College in OH. She previously taught at Buffalo United Charter School, St Matthew Lutheran School, Covenant Academy and St Mark Lutheran School. She joines our staff in 2010. She lives in Buffalo and attends Restoration Church.
Middle School Math and History: Adam earned his BS from Buffalo State College. He joined our staff in 2010. He resides in Williamsville and attends Grace and Truth Church in Amherst.
High School Math Teacher: Patricia earned her B.S. in education from the University of Buffalo. She joined our staff in September of 2005. She also is a graduate of CAWNY, and our first alumni to return as part of the staff. She lives in Lockport and attends Victory Christian Church.
Office Personel
History Teacher: Mr Evans earned his BA from Hiran College in Ohio. He was on the faculty at Charles Finney HS from 1991-1993 and Covenant Academy from 1997-2008 serving as principal from 1989-1991. He also taught at Christian Heritage School in Tyler Texas. He lives on Grand Island with his wife and they attend New Covenant Tabernacle.
Physical Education and Pre-K: Tamara earned her BS at Baptist Bible College in PA. She previously taught at Christian Heritage School. She joined our staff in 2010. She lives in Lockport with her husband and son and they attend Calvary Baptist Church.
Elementary Music Teacher: Mrs. Goss earned her Bachelors and Masters of Music at SUNY Fredonia. She is retired from a long career of teaching music in the Niagara Wheatfield school district. Mrs. Goss joined our staff in September of 2010. She lives in North Tonawanda with her husband and they attend the Community Bible Church.
Resource Teacher: Teresa earned her A.S. from NCCC, B.S. and M.S from Niagara University. She has NYS Certification in elementary education and special education. She did her student teaching at CAWNY and has been a substitute teacher for the Niagara Wheatfield schools. Teresa joined our staff in 2006. She resides in Niagara Falls with her husband and 3 children, they attend Colonial Village Presbyterian Church.
Debate and Early Church History: James graduated from CAWNY in 2005 as the class valecitorian. He then earned his BA Magna Cum Laude from State University at Buffalo in 2009 and his MA from Yale Divinity School in 2011. In the summer of 2007 he participated in a summer internship with the Superior Court in Washington DC, his research project was titled: The Public Crusades; An Analysis of Spirituality and its Impact on the American Legal System. He joins our staff in 2011 teaching Early Church History and Debate. James lives in Tonawanda with his family and attends Saints Theodore Orthodox Church.
Principal: Cindy earned her BS in elementary education from Buffalo State College and her MS in reading from Canisius College. She joined the Academy staff in 1993. She lives in Lockport with her husband, Joey, and they attend Evangel Church.
Art Teacher: Mrs Monica Ljiljanich earned her BS in Art from Cornell College in Iowa and her MS in Art Education from Buffalo State University. She lives in Tonawanda with her husband and children and they attend Tonawanda United Methodist Church.
Jay earned his B.A. from Houghton College. He joined the Academy 2007. He resides in Lockport and attends Victory Christian Church.
Administrator: Patricia brings to the Academy extensive experience in formal and Christian education. Her goal is educational excellence and the development of Christian character in the students. She was appointed to this position in 1993. Previously she was administrator and teacher at Faith Christian School in Lockport and Dodge Elementary in Williamsville. Patricia also was director of Faith Christian Home School and has held teaching positions at Amherst Christian Academy and Starpoint Elementary School. Patricia was actively involved with the research and development committee of the Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Daemen College and graduate work at State University College of Buffalo. She also has completed studies through Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Patricia resides in Lockport with her husband, Jay. Their two sons and daughter are CAWNY graduates. Their family attends Victory Christian Church
Counselor
Fourth Grade Teacher: Kristen earned her B.A. from Roberts Wesleyan College. She joined the Academy staff in 1995. She resides in Lockport with her Husband and their two children. They attend the First Baptist Church in Lockport. ksmith@cawny.com
Middle School Science and English: Susan studied at Niagara County Community College, Cedarville University and earned her BA at Buffalo State University in 2010. She joined our staff as a substitute teacher in January of 2010. She has also taught at Amherst Christian Academy. She lives in North Tonawanda with her husband and two children. The family attends The Chapel at Crosspoint.
