CAWNY for Parents
The purpose of Christian Academy is to provide a high standard of education for each student, based upon a firm foundation in the Word of God.
A basic responsibility of Christian parents is to obey the Biblical instruction, which gives them the ultimate responsibility for the education of their children. (Deuteronomy 6: 7, 8; Proverbs 22:6) CAWNY is an extension of the Christian home, embracing the task of assisting parents in the training of their children in the knowledge of God and the Christian way of life.
CAWNY is dedicated to preparing its students to impact their generation for Christ, by providing a standard of excellence for educating the whole student in a Christian environment. It is our goal to inspire and facilitate the development of each child: academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. CAWNY provides a professional Christian faculty and administration, as well as programs, policies and curriculum that result in high quality, Christ-centered education and development for its students.
It is a great privilege to send our children to a private school, where God is integrated into every aspect of their lives. Therefore, we would like to remind families that tuition does not cover all educational expenses and fund raising becomes mandatory in bridging the gap. The school expects each family to participate in at least one main fund raising event a year. We would respectfully ask that each parent/family would prayerfully consider where their gifts and talents can be used to help fill the many volunteer opportunities that arise throughout the school year. Our children will benefit greatly from all that God has placed in each of our families. We are the body of Christ and all its members are needed to allow the whole body to function at its greatest potential. Please consider some of the areas below and contact the office with where you are able to help.
Main Fundraisers: Missions Fair/Chiavetta's, Easter Candy Sale, Dinner Auction, Sports-a -Thon
On Going Fundraisers: Abitibi Paper Recycling (located outside the school), Good Search, Tops Cards, Campbell's labels, Target Cards, Mozy Unlimited Backup, Box Tops.
School Programs: PTO, Parents in Prayer, Speech Meet, Academic Night, Year Book, Lunch Monitors, Christmas Cupboard, Mothers Day Plant Sale, Bake sales, etc..
Other Volunteer Opportunities: Substitute Teachers, Building work, Grant writing, Chapel Speakers, Newsletter committee.
Sports: Many sports are being planned for the year. We are in need of various coaches for some of the sports. Please contact the office if you have experiences and a willing heart to coach.
