Legislature panel OKs sale of Davison Road parcel
LOCKPORT -- The Niagara County Legislature's Public
Works
Committee voted Monday to approve the sale of 16.5
acres of land
on Davison Road to Christian Academy of Western
New York for
$375,000.
The vote came after Public Works
Commissioner Kevin P. O'Brien
and Deputy Commissioner
Robin DeVoe reported that tests on an
old underground fuel
oil tank showed no contamination and that
the tank could be
removed for about $6,000.
Assistant County Attorney R. Thomas
Burgasser said the sale
could close in August or September, if
the full Legislature
approves. The deed is to be amended to give
the county easements
for water and sewer lines and access to
records storage and golf
course maintenance buildings.
The Lockport school will use the Switzer Building, the former
county infirmary, for its classes. The county will have to give
Mercy Flight 30 days' notice that its helicopters will no longer
be allowed to land on the site unless the new owners agree.
